My name is Mouse Bird and I have created Gaiamara Temple to be a living sanctuary; space and place with an invitation to settle into earth body, and to expand into soul, dream, community, and imagination through sacred rite and ritual, touch, movement, sound, breath, dream tending, and authentic creative expression. Gaiamara Temple is here to help you to reconnect to your Roots.

“Gaia” refers to the ancient Greek primordial Goddess personifying the Earth, seen as the Mother Goddess, the source of all life, and literally means "earth" or "land". “Amara” is a word of the world with diverse meanings including: "grace" or "mercy" in Igbo/West African, and "immortal" or "eternal" in Sanskrit. It is a name that is widely recognized for denoting everlasting beauty or divine blessing. In Spanish “Ama” means “mistress of the house”, “Amar” is the verb “to love”, and “Mar” means “ocean”, and “sea”. "Ma" is the transcultural and universal early child sound for "mother". 

“Gaiamara” therefore poetically becomes:

“She, the primordial, eternal and immortal Goddess of Earth and Sea. Mother, Love, Source: bestower of everlasting beauty and divine blessings of grace and mercy.”

“Temple” is a place of worship and reverence. The inner and the outer temple. The temple of the heart-mind-body.

All offerings of Gaiamara Temple are invitations into reverence. They are invitations into grounding sensitivity and embodying compassion and presence; invitations to live, create, and move from a place of authenticity, love, and connection within ourselves and within the greater web of life. Through the body. Through our bodies. Through our earth bodies. Through our sensual relationship to it all. All offerings are intended to nurture a culture of honoring.

Welcome Prayer

All bodies are welcome here. All colors, ancestries, ethnicities, places of origin, sizes, shapes, ages, abilities, genders, histories, and beliefs. All bodies are welcome here in peace.

All parts are welcome here. All of the parts of Self that are woven through time and space; in memory and dust, and the pulsating tissues of the body. All of the emotions, the behaviours, the voices, the pains, the dreams, the patterns, the family systems, and the attachment wounds. The young ones, the old ones, the ones woven deep in the fabric of bones as the ones that came before us. The ancestors in the bones. The imagination, the dreams, and the prayers. All of the parts that create the whole. All parts are welcome here in peace. 

I give thanks to being alive and living with this earth, as this earth. I give thanks to you. I give thanks to the land, to this beautiful, vital, luscious, watery, green, scrumptious land. This land, that has been tended by the Lummi, Nooksack, Skagit, Samish, and Coast Salish peoples for time immemorial. Thank you to all of the indigenous beings of this land. Thank you to the spirit of this land. Thank you to the ancestors of this land and to all of the ancestors that have blessed us with our life. Thank you to all of the flora, the fauna, the minerals, and all of nature. Thank you to the water. Thank you to all the spirits, guides, and allies in the visible and invisible dimensions. Thank you to the star nations and to the cosmic realms. Thank you to the 4 directions and the 3 worlds. Thank you and hello to all of our relations. You are welcome in peace.

May what is offered here be as nourishment for the Web of Life. May it be like good food, feeding all of life for this generation and for all future generations to come. May we remember how to human, together. With love, as love. Above and below, within and without. Weaving the rainbow tapestry in reverence and honor with all of our relations. What is bodywork for you? How do you engage with touch in your life? Giving and receiving? Do you have a practice of giving and or receiving intentional, healing touch? . Going to Massage school 16 years ago is a decision I am eternally grateful for. That decision enabled me to walk forward in my life from then on, including touch as a fundamentally necessary component to a thriving and connected life. Learning to communicate and to give and receive energy through touch has been a deeply rewarding and healing journey. For my physical body, my emotional body, my intuitive body, my mental body, my ancestral body all of my bodies. All of my being. . Touch is preverbal and a primary language. We are not provided with spaces to explore touch with intention. Maybe we receive skilled loving caring touch at home, but likely not. For me, learning to touch, meant learning to feel and learning to listen. Learning to touch meant learning to care for listen and respond to the being I was touching. The whole being. Listening with my whole being to their whole being. And allowing my hands and body to move. Learning to converse with the body. Asking questions through touch and waiting to hear what the response is. Being curious. It has opened up a profound level of sensual awareness and intuition in my life. . It is a profound joy to offer Intuitive body work sessions to human beings who are seeking connection and coherence, rest and attunement. . Existing in all dimensions simultaneously. Here at Samhain. The great shedding begins the great sloughing. We have been harvesting and celebrating in abundance for half of the year. And now comes the time of the great thinning. The time where we lay to rest. Some parts of us to carry forward in the journey and others to be set free. . In this time of uncertainty and intensity stay close to your prayer. Become intimate with that part of you that knows the truth. Ignite the path forward with your devotion. .
